Hi, we're Glucose Decoded.
We started this site because the internet is full of confusing, scary, or salesy information about blood sugar, and not a lot of "hey, here's what's actually going on, in normal words."
Who this is for
If you're an adult living with prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, you're not on insulin, and you want to understand what your numbers mean and what small things actually help, you're our people. We write for you specifically.
We don't write for everyone, and that's on purpose. We don't cover insulin dosing, type 1 diabetes, weight loss trends, or supplements that promise the moon. We cover what's real and what's useful for our specific reader, and we're happy to send you elsewhere for the rest.
Who's behind this
Nader Nouri Zad, Ph.D. Founder and editor.
I am Nader Nouri Zad, Ph.D, a scientist with a background in biochemistry and molecular diagnostics, and more than a decade of hands on experience in the science of how biological tests actually work. I also live with diabetes, so the numbers on this site are not abstract to me. I built Glucose Decoded out of a simple frustration: people are handed numbers, an A1C, a glucose reading, a CGM graph, with almost no plain language help understanding what they mean. My goal here is to explain the science of glucose and metabolic health clearly and honestly, without hype and without selling anything, so you can have better conversations with your own healthcare provider. Everything on this site is educational and is not medical advice.
How we write
- We start with the question, not a product. "Should I be worried about my fasting number?" is a real question. We answer real questions.
- We use words you'd use with a friend. If we have to use a clinical term like "A1C," we explain it right next to it. No homework.
- We check our work. Clinical claims come from peer reviewed journals, regulatory guidance (FDA, NICE), and professional bodies (ADA, EASD). Our medical reviewer reads anything clinical before it goes live.
- We update. Devices and guidance change. Every article shows a published and updated date so you know what you're reading.
- We fix things. See an error? Email hello@glucosedecoded.com and we'll correct it and note the change.
What we won't do
- We won't tell you anything has been "reversed" or "cured." Metabolic health changes are real and meaningful, but those aren't honest words.
- We won't write for insulin users. OTC CGMs aren't designed for that, and we'd be out of our depth.
- We won't invent statistics. If we cite a number, you can trace it. If we don't have a source, we tell you.
Glad you're here. Take what's useful, leave the rest, and come back when you have more questions.
